SLA Commissioner Healey Steps Down
State Liquor Authority Commissioner Noreen Healey resigned her post on January 2nd. Commissioner Healey was appointed to the Authority in 2006 by Governor Pataki. Her resignation leaves two board members – Chairman Dennis Rosen and Commissioner Jeanique Greene to transact the business of the Liquor Authority. While the SLA board can function with just two commissioners, the vacancy means that if the commissioners disagree or if one commissioner is unable to participate, licensees could suffer. According to a published report Chairman Rosen explained that a tie vote is a “no” so he advised to have items of significance adjourned to a future meeting when a third commissioner would be seated
